Dear Manthan Family,
Greetings!
As we step into September, I am filled with pride and excitement about the remarkable journey we have had so far, this academic year. Last month was also full of enriching experiences, just like previous months, and it brings me joy to highlight some of the key experiences.
We kicked off August with the Future Pathways University Fair, featuring over 100 universities from around the world, including India, the US, the UK, Canada, New Zealand, and Australia. Our students and parents gained invaluable insights into future academic opportunities.
I am also thrilled to share that we successfully conducted our first SAT Exam on August 24, 2024. Providing our students with a familiar and supportive testing environment for any test that they may need to take is part of our ongoing commitment to their academic success, and this was an important milestone in that journey. From now on, our students can take their SAT exams at their school itself.
Parenting Workshop was another notable event. Seeing so many parents engage in interactive sessions focused on effective communication, setting boundaries, and building trust with their adolescents was inspiring. This joint effort strengthens our community and provides parents with valuable tools for fostering positive relationships with their children.
One of the most eagerly anticipated events was Samanvay – The Social Week. Students from grades 3 to 12 came together to celebrate social studies with creativity and teamwork. From extempore speeches and geography fairs to innovative business pitches, the enthusiasm and energy throughout the week were truly exceptional.
On the safety front, we conducted a Lockdown Drill on August 13, 2024. This essential exercise ensures our students and staff are well-prepared for emergencies. I am pleased to share significant improvement in our response to such drills and greater familiarity with safety protocols.
Grade 4 and 5 recently visited Rocksport Adventure Camp, where they challenged themselves with activities like Zipline, Commando Net, Burma Bridge, Archery, and the Magic Maze, and tried their hand at pottery. Such excursions provide a fantastic blend of learning and fun, creating unforgettable memories as students explore things with friends.
Lastly, I am excited to announce the launch of our Media Club. This new initiative offers students hands-on experience in professional videography, content creation, scriptwriting, and video editing. It is a wonderful opportunity for our students to explore and develop their creative talents in the world of media.
As we continue our journey through the academic year, I am confident that the spirit of learning, collaboration, and innovation will thrive at Manthan. Thank you for your support to the school and your active involvement in your child’s educational journey.
Wishing you a fantastic September!
Over 100 universities from across the globe attended in the Future Pathways Festival organised by Manthan School on 2nd August 2024. The event saw participation of universities from India, US, UK, Canada, New Zealand and Australia. The festival was a remarkable achievement, attracting high school parents and students who greatly benefited from engaging discussions with university representatives at the table fair. It was further enriched by interactive breakout sessions that were seamlessly incorporated into the event.
We are thrilled to announce that our school successfully administered the first SAT on August 24th. This marks a significant milestone in our commitment to providing our students with the best academic opportunities.
At Manthan, we recognize the importance of the SAT as a crucial component of the college admissions process, both in India and internationally. Ensuring a familiar and conducive testing environment, we are incredibly proud of making this experience seamless and stress-free for our students.
It was a day filled with fun and enthusiasm as students from various schools participated in the Cambridge Interschool Literature Festival, Literati, held at Manthan. The event featured competitions like debates, creative advertisements, cartoons, extempore speaking, etc. that showcased students’ creativity, teamwork, leadership and helped them foster a sense of community and respect for diverse viewpoints.
Manthan recently conducted a parenting workshop, that focused on equipping parents with essential strategies for effectively engaging with adolescents. This interactive session was designed to enhance parental skills and foster a deeper understanding of adolescent development.
Throughout the workshop, participants explored several core strategies that are crucial for parents to implement in their interactions with teenage children. These strategies emphasized the importance of factors within the parents’ control, such as communication techniques, setting boundaries, and building trust.
The Samanvay – The Social Week, celebrated at Manthan involved students from grade 3 to grade 12 at a diverse range of activities. Throughout the week, students had the chance to showcase their talents and creativity in various events. These included extempore speeches, where they impressed the audiance with their spontaneity and articulation, and interactive fairs that vividly represented the physical and human geography of different regions across the globe. Additionally, budding entrepreneurs among the students pitched their innovative business ideas to a panel of judges, demonstrating their strategic thinking and presentation skills. Samanvay brought the entire student body together under the overarching theme of social studies, fostering a spirit of creativity, collaboration, and a deeper understanding of social concepts.
On 28th August 2024, Students of Grade 9 from Manthan International School had the extraordinary opportunity to visit the National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC) an outreach facility at Jeedimetla in Hyderabad which is one of the primary centres of Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), Department of Space (DOS).
