Hyderabad, Sunday, May 23th, 2010: The University of Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) and Manthan International School organised an orientation seminar in Hyderabad that aimed at providing the parents an insight into the Cambridge approach to education. CIE Regional Manager, South Asia Mr.Ian Chambers led the seminar and spoke to parents about international recognition of Cambridge qualifications and the global opportunities they open up to young people. Mr. Ramakrishna Reddy, Director Manthan International School spoke about the need for quality education at an affordable cost. Speaking at the seminar Mrs. Renu Shorey, Principal of Manthan International School said, inculcating right values, exploring his true potential, preparing him for the challenges of life and giving him a ‘why’ are the true vocations of a school. During an interactive session organised by Manthan International School, Mr. Ian Chambers, Region Manager, South Asia, University of Cambridge International Examinations, shared some valuable insights with media in Hyderabad on wide-ranging aspects of the much-in demand global qualifications, the current Indian schooling scenario, its strengths and weaknesses and ways for more effective school-curricula development that would meet the constant changing needs of the global markets. The acceptance of Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) in India is growing 40 to 50 per cent a year, says Ian Chambers, Regional Manager (South Asia) of CIE.” The Cambridge International Primary Programme gives schools a framework to develop Mathematics, English and Science skills and knowledge in young children. The Primary Programme provides guidance for curriculum development and classroom teaching and learning, and allows teachers to assess children’s learning as they progress. The Cambridge International Primary Programme (CIPP) can be taken up alongside any existing system. Indian schools are adopting the CIPP in great numbers as it ensures an international standard for each year of primary education besides providing a firm foundation for secondary studies.
