Manthan provides a good blend of CBSE/NCERT Syllabus taught using international curriculum frameworks of Cambridge International Primary Programme (CIPP) of University of Cambridge International Examinations (CIE). Till class 8 the syllabus used for all students is the CBSE / NCERT syllabus but the teaching methodology, the assessments, the activity based learning, the teachers lesson plans and their training is as per the norms of international board CIE.
The advantages of such a blend being: while what is taught (syllabus) is as per CBSE and hence there will be no problem in transferring to other schools any where in India, how it is taught is where the uniqueness comes in. Children get to understand the concepts in the most scientific way, get to explore many more dimensions of education than possible in conventional schools and more importantly the international affiliated boards through their rigorous quality checks will ensure that academic standards are always maintained. The details of the affiliations and teaching methodology are as follows:
Pre Primary consists of Jr KG and Sr KG for the age groups of 3+ to 5+. We follow a theme based learning where each theme that runs for 4 to 6 weeks has integrated learning objectives for language, maths, mortar and social skills development. Single teacher taking all the subjects encourages an interdisciplinary approach. Each class will have not more than 25 students and each class will have two teachers and one support staff.
Primary school consists of classes 1 to 5 for the age groups of 6 to 11. Manthan has affiliated with Cambridge International Primary Programme (CIPP) developed by University of Cambridge International Examinations (CIE # IN841). It is based on sound educational principles and tried and tested methodologies. The curriculum framework provides a solid foundation in Mathematics, English and Science that is relevant and useful for students and teachers across the world.
An interdisciplinary approach is practiced in the early years of primary school too with a single teacher taking all the classes except for the specialized activities like dance & music, art & craft and languages. In later years specialist teachers start taking more and more subjects so that the required specialization can be achieved. For more details visit CIPP site.
Middle school consists of classes 6 to 8 for the age groups of 11 to 14. Special subject teachers teach the subjects in the middle school. All the subjects are compulsory and the only choice is in languages and activities like art, music, drama and sports. Core subjects are English, Mathematics, Science, History, Geography, ICT and second language. Middle school is taught using well-researched methodologies and prepares the students for the high school where they can choose to take the IGCSE or CBSE stream.
High school - Manthan will affiliate with both IGCSE and CBSE for high school consisting of classes 9 to 12 for the age groups of 15 to 18. Student will have a choice to choose either of the streams when (s)he is in class 8.
